How to Care for your Candles
BURN
For the first burn of your Luca Candle, trim wick to about 1/4th of an inch in length & burn for about 3-4 hours.
Allow the wax to burn evenly across the surface of the jar, this will help prevent uneven burn & candle tunneling which wastes the wax on the side of the glass & will create candle burn memory.
After your first burn, please make sure to always trim your wick to about 1/4th of an inch in length before lighting your candle. Keeping your wick trimmed will ensure a longer lasting candle, will maximize the fragrance throw & eliminate soot. Only burn in 3-4 hour increments. Do not burn candles for more than 4 hours at a time.
Keep lit candles away from children and pets. Burn on a temperature safe surface. Do not leave your lit candle unattended.
CANDLE SWEAT
Sometimes changes in temperature & weather can cause soy wax candles to sweat. Being 100% Natural, soy wax is safe, free from chemicals & is made of natural oils.
Candle sweat doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with your Luca Candle, this in no
way will affect the way your candle burns.
FROSTING
Frosting is a natural part of reforming for natural soy wax candles, it tends to try and go back to its natural state. In some instance, wax may frost or have air pockets around the glass. This is not damage, nor a defect of the candle. Soy wax being so natural & chemical free makes it a tad temperamental, unlike a chemical wax like paraffin wax.
Please understand that this is out of our control. Simply place the candle in a cool, dry
and sunless area for it to adjust to the temperature & new surroundings. It should form
back to the perfect state in time.
All Luca Candles are 100 % natural, hand-poured, made in small batches, chemical & toxin free. They have NO additives & sometimes are a little unpredictable. But none of this will prevent you from a perfect candle burn.
